Theming It
Creating a theme for any event, occasion or gift
When I'm looking for a unique display for an event, season, party or even a birthday gift I always Theme It.
The obvious theme for Christmas would be the newborn King. But the following phrase kept repeating itself over and over in my mind. "the Angels sing, Glory to the newborn King. "
I imagined The King encompassed by music in this blanket of winter wonderland.
Therefore stockings and trees were music oriented. Once you've added music to something it quickly becomes black and white by the nature of it. I grabbed a few chunky glitter letters and affixed them to some aged wood for the center focal. Blankets of snow and tulle and it all flowed itself together.
So next time you find yourself completely stumped how can I pull this together? Ask yourself if I had to put a title to it what would it be? Then it quickly answers it's own question and before you know it you stand back and look and you say, "Wow, I actually did that."
