Quick, Cute, Easy Gifting!

Soap To Go!

This time of year I like to add in a few extra gifts for neighbors, teachers, friends, co-workers, etc...
I find the challenge to be, something that lets them know I am thinking of them, but something that doesn't take too much time to put together.
So when I stumbled on a few different versions of this I knew this was a Tweak for me.

Repurpose everyday boxes into Gift Boxes

BOX UPSCALE

I love to tweak boxes. So any time I see a quality box I stash it away and wait for the perfect opportunity to reinvent it. A quality box must meet at least one of a few criteria.

  • A lid and a bottom (separate, easier to tweak)
  • Quality construction
  • Unusual size or shape
Do you recognize this box? This was an easy cheesy redo, but came out beautiful.

1 Whitman's Sampler Box
2 Sheets 12X12 scrapbooking paper
1 poinsettia flower grouping
hot glue gun
favorite scrapbooking glue (I use an ATG gun, and Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive

I purposefully left the bottom of the box sides with the Whitman's logo etc. When I repurpose I frequently leave one section original, also covering this are may effect the functionality of the box. If you wanted to cover it I would recommend paint in this area.

From first sheet of paper I cut:
2 - 8.75X5.5 pieces this covers the top and bottom of the box

From the second sheet of paper I cut:
2 - 2.25X8.45 for the sides
2 - 2.25X5.2 for the narrower sides
1 - 8.25X5.25 for the lid liner on the inside

I cut just the flowers from the stems.

Glue embellishment pieces in place with hot glue gun.

Happy Tweaking, keep your eyes open for boxes you can tweak.

Wedding Tweaking

Repurposed to make Wedding Décor

Well, for those who know me this post needs a story. I am a Tweaker, I Tweak things. I look at things, I see the vision of something different. My forte is not, perfect colors, well thought out visions. When I am working with something I need the freedom and grace to Tweak it as the project dictates.
I DON'T DO WEDDINGS! If you spend any time with me, you've heard me say it.
It's a personal choice, nothing against my friends, and family, or your loved ones.
Why you ask? Weddings are a persons vision, often something a woman has dreamed about for a long time. I most likely am limited and cannot match your colors, your font may not work for the avenue which you are trying to use it, and lastly I do not work well with short deadlines.
What I do is an art; my art may not be your vision.

So having said all that, when I reacquainted with an old friend with a referral from a long time friend. I found myself in a challenge I couldn't resist. Recycled products 14 pieces total, wood pallets, and old 'House for sale sign', vintage window, old recovered boards, even an old cupboard door.
YES! I DID A WEDDING!

That TWEAKER got my cell phone!

Have you ever wondered what would happen if a TWEAKER got a hold of your cell phone?

"My dreams and creativity come from God. God has the power to accomplish them. I am a channel for His creativity, and my work comes to good. As I create and listen, I am led. God has a divine plan of goodness for me. I am willing to let Him create through me. By using my creativity I serve God."

I typed this a few years ago from a handwritten note on a little scrap of torn paper my mom had carried for years. We were working together on a memory board of her life.

She believed this as I do...

So when this TWEAKER seen that little black box holding special memories I knew those memories had to be released!

9x20 shadow box from Michaels, I used foamboard to create two back levels, and mat board to create the top three levels.

If you can dream it, you can achieve it!

Dollar Tree Table Center Piece ~ 60 Years!

Personalized Table Center Piece

Personalized Center Piece under $10.00

Celebrating 60 years is a pretty big deal! Nothing says we are thinking about YOU more than personalization. This client and dear friend wanted to celebrate her mom. Was willing to do assembly work, but felt at a loss as where to go with it. No theme other than 60 years of being special in the lives of those around her. Color thoughts, bright and spring like.
